In the 1950s, a communist country. The film follows a retired detective who investigates two enigmatic murders. Both murders are connected to a murder exposing an old secret about a corrupt officer that causes controversy throughout the city and alerts the political security. As he uncovers clues, the detective plunges deeper and deeper into a maelstrom of political and personal intrigue that leads him to a final revelation.

Grzegorz, diagnosed as an autistic child, lives in his hermetic world, unable to establish contact with others. When he turns fourteen, it turns out that the cause of isolation is not autism, but hearing loss, which hides great musical talent.

Locked up in a house of secrets by her over-protective mother, young Megan lives in a reality all her own. When a mysterious stranger begins sending cryptic love letters, mother assumes Megan has been sneaking out behind her back. Mother will soon find out the truth about the mysterious stranger is a far more horrifying, and deadly, then she could ever imagine.
